Privacy on This Server

Misskey.art Project (the "Administrators") sets out this privacy policy (the "Policy") as follows for the handling of privacy information on "Misskey.art" (the "Service"), a decentralized microblogging social network service operated and managed by the Administrators.

Personal Information Collected by the Service

Article 1 (Definition of Privacy Information)

1. Among privacy information, "personal information" refers to "personal information" under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. It is information about a living individual, and refers to information that can identify a specific individual by the date of birth, address, phone number, or other descriptions contained in the information.
2. Among privacy information, "history and characteristic information" refers to information other than the "personal information" defined above, such as web pages the user has viewed, search keywords, date and time of use, method of use, usage environment, age, the user's IP address, cookie information, location information, and device identification information.

Article 2 (How Privacy Information Is Collected)

1. The Service may ask for personal information such as an email address when a user registers.
2. In addition to the above, the Service may ask for additional personal information such as the date of birth to check whether the user meets the age set out in the Terms of Service of the Service.
3. The Service collects history and characteristic information about users (including, when using a mobile device such as a smartphone, the communication status of the device and various settings for its use) when users use and view the Service.

Article 3 (Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Service collects and uses personal information are as follows.

1. To display registration information and information about services used, so that users can view and modify their registration information and view their usage status
2. To use contact information such as an email address to verify the user's identity
3. To use the email address to send users notices and messages about the Service
4. To transfer information registered in the Service to other servers based on the user's instructions, so that users can enter data easily
5. To use the content of inquiries, information necessary for the Service to provide services to users, the user's usage status, contact information, etc., to respond to inquiries from users
6. To review sign-up applications when sign-up approval is required
7. To respond to violations of the Terms of Service or the Rules, such as warning users or suspending their accounts
8. To improve the Service
9. Purposes incidental to the above purposes of use

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

1. The Service does not provide personal information to third parties without the user's prior consent, except in the following cases.
   However, this does not apply to cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws, or to the date of birth registered as the user's public information.
   1. When required by law
   2. When it is necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the person's consent
   3. When it is especially necessary to improve public health or promote the healthy development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the person's consent
   4. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or a third party entrusted by them in carrying out affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the person's consent may interfere with carrying out those affairs
2. Notwithstanding the above, the following are not considered third parties.
   1. The administrators of the Service, including moderators
   2. When the Service entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use
   3. When personal information is provided as a result of business succession due to a merger or other reasons
   4. When personal information is jointly used with a specific party, and the user has been notified in advance, or can easily know, of that fact, the items of personal information jointly used, the scope of joint users, the purposes of use by the joint users, and the name of the person responsible for managing the personal information

Article 5 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

When a person requests disclosure of their personal information, the Service discloses it to the person without delay.
However, if disclosure falls under any of the following, we may not disclose all or part of it. If we decide not to disclose it, we will notify the person to that effect without delay.
Requests for disclosure are accepted at the contact in Article 8.
A fee of 1,500 yen per request is charged for the disclosure of personal information. We will tell you how to pay the fee when we receive your request.

1. When it may harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the person or a third party
2. When it may seriously interfere with the proper operation of the Service
3. When it would otherwise violate the law

In principle, we do not disclose information that is not personal information, such as history and characteristic information.

Article 6 (Correction or Deletion of Personal Information)

1. If the personal information about the user held by the Service is incorrect, the user may request the Service to correct or delete the personal information by contacting us at the contact in Article 8, except in the following cases.
   1. When the account is suspended due to misconduct or other reasons
   2. When it is technically impossible
2. When the Service receives a request as described above and decides that it needs to respond to the request, it will correct or delete the personal information without delay and notify the user.
3. Users can also delete their account, posts, and other data themselves using the functions of the Service. However, we cannot guarantee the deletion of information copied to federated servers (see the Terms of Service).

Article 7 (Changes to This Policy)

1. This Policy may be changed as needed. When we change it, we will announce the new content and the date it takes effect by posting them on this site. For major changes, we will also announce them in Misskey.art's announcements.
2. The revised Policy takes effect on the date announced under the previous paragraph.
