Posting Guidelines ​

About this translation

This is an English translation provided for reference. If there is any difference between this translation and the Japanese version, the Japanese version takes precedence.

How notes work - Visibility

By default, notes are posted as "Public" and appear on timelines that anyone can see. You can change the visibility from "🌐 Public" (①) at the top right of the posting form.

note_public_scope

  • Public (this is the default)
    • Visible to everyone.
    • Also appears on the "Local timeline" and on the "Global timeline", which users on other servers can see too.
    • If your account is silenced, you cannot post with Public visibility.
  • Home
    • Visible to everyone.
    • Does not appear on the "Local timeline", but appears on the "Home timeline", the "Social timeline", and your own profile.
  • Followers
    • Visible only to "your followers".
  • Direct
    • Visible only to the "specific users" you have chosen as recipients.

Tip

Together with the visibility, you can also set "Defederate".

  • Toggle it with the rocket icon (②) to the right of the visibility.
  • The note cannot be looked up from other servers.

How to Set Hide Content, Sensitive, and Sensitive by Default ​

How to Use Hide Content ​

  1. Press the eye icon ("Hide content") at the bottom of the posting form.
  2. Write a warning in the "Comments" field. The comments are shown without being hidden.
  3. Write the content you want to hide in the text.

  1. Attach a file, and press "…" to the left of the file.
  2. Turn on "Sensitive".

How to Mark Media as Sensitive by Default ​

You can mark the files you upload as sensitive from the start.

  1. Open "Settings".
  2. Open "Drive".
  3. Turn on "Mark as sensitive by default".

Guidelines for "Misskey.art Derived Characters" ​

  • You are free to design the characters. We'd be happy if you draw your own "Misskey.art derived characters"!
  • On Misskey.art, extreme works are not banned, but they are not recommended either (outside Misskey.art, they are not OK). It's only at the level of "we don't prohibit them".
  • Treating the characters without love (without respect, carelessly) is not OK.
    • However, for R-18G works, it is mostly fine if you see them as "a kind of love".
      In that case, post them according to the rules.
  • Using them for political purposes is completely prohibited on any platform.
  • Basically, you are free.
  • Extreme works such as R-18 and R-18G are also fine if you set "Sensitive" and "Hide content" according to the NSFW Guidelines.

Outside Misskey.art (Twitter, Pixiv, etc.) ​

  • Be sure to state that "it is a Misskey.art derived character".
  • Extreme works are not OK.
